Muddywellies Comments Policy
Having started this blog (June 2009) I can see there’s a range of ways for blog readers to view and use the comments sections of blogs.
These range form ignoring them on the one hand , to abusing them automatically in all sorts of ways. I’ll leave it at that….
Between these two extremes is a whole spectrum of possibilities for bloggers. (Some of which I don’t even know about right now). But here’s where I stand:
1. I love comments about this blog – they are the food it needs to grow. They add to the knowledge and community that we have here. If you wish to comment you’re most welcome – whether you feel you’re a beginner or expert, or someone in between, feel free to have your say.
2. I abhor spam – It wastes time and resources. My tolerance of it is zero.
3. Relevant links in comments are actively encouraged – if you’re commenting on my blogs and wish to point to a link of your own or someone else’s site which is relevant to the topic the please feel free to do so. They add value, to the conversation and improve the blog.
4. Irrelevant links will be discouraged – If comments are left which are deemed irrelevant to the topic concerned they will almost certainly be deleted because they don’t add to the topic under discussion. I also feel that they do nothing positive for the blogger and the site concerned.
5. The bottom line. This blog is like ‘my home on the web’ please treat it as you wish others to treat yours and you won’t go far wrong with me.
