Gardening is a hugely popular pastime for many and one of the most common questions for the beginner gardener is “Where do I start?”
My first picture shows my wife Tania at the start of our own garden makeover back in July, 1999, when we faced the same question. The pictures below show the results of ten years gardening that we hope should encourage others to follow.
The pergola featured in this post rests upon the ‘concrete’ just visible to the left of the soil heap in the background of the first picture.

Hay, I have just read your website from last few days. Is there any chance of doing anything in garden makeover? We r renovating a house and have a large garden which is completely overgrown with brambles would love a makeover! Please help.
