About

Muddy Wellies was set up in 2014 and is run by Amy Ellis. Amy loves getting outdoors in all weathers and inspiring others to do the same.  Amanda Tattersall joins Amy in running the Wild Parties and really enjoys playing in the woods!

Amy and Amanda have lots of experience working with children of all ages.  Both are mums of two, so knows first-hand how beneficial it can be to get young ones outside.

“THE NATURAL WORLD IS INCREDIBLY INSPIRING”

The aim of Muddy Wellies is to make outdoor exploration fun and easy for parents, teachers and other carers of young children.

The natural world is incredibly inspiring to young minds and is continuously shut off from them by the use of TV, computer games and smart phones.

There is a misconception that playing outside is dirty, full of disease and a lot of effort.

Amy’s Background

Amy has worked in environmental education for 12 years and has experience teaching people of all ages about the natural world.

This cannot be further from the truth. If you have an upset toddler, hyperactive primary school student or a disabled child and you put them in a woodland they could be entertained for hours.

As society has developed into a more “indoors” way of life adult imagination within the natural world has declined dramatically. You may remember going out and climbing trees all day but the thought of allowing your child to do that today may scare you!

“ENGAGE CHILDREN OF ALL AGES”

Muddy Wellies aims to help resolve this and provide fun, safe and interactive ideas on how to engage children of all ages.

If you are looking for somewhere different to spend time with your toddler, want a birthday party everyone will remember or want some inspiration in the classroom look no further because Muddy Wellies has the answer!
